We’ve also made significant investments to deliver products faster than ever. In the last few years, we’ve reinvented our warehouse operation, upgraded our shipping process and dramatically reduced the time it takes to get products on your shelves. The improvement process continues to this day.

Our TImeline

  • 1923

    Our founders, Claude Bennett and Stacy Williams, establish a distribution business in downtown Birmingham, Alabama to sell their product, Yellow Label Syrup. The Stacy Williams Company is born.

  • 1940’s

    The Stacy Williams Company evolves into a convenience store wagon jobber expanding their product offerings. Tobacco products, candy and health and beauty aids are sold alongside the famous Yellow Label Syrup.

  • 1960’s

    Stacy Williams Company continues to prosper, expanding their line of sundry items and becoming a full-line convenience store supplier.

  • 1970’s

    Convenience store customers start seeing increased demand for fishing and hunting related products. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Stacy Williams Company begins selling sporting goods including tackle, ammunition and hunting/fishing accessories.

  • 1980’s

    Stacy Williams Company is sold to Newton-Canton Corporation, a large convenience store distributor servicing the Southeastern U.S. Rick Bestwick joins the company as President, immediately identifying the opportunity to further expand the sporting goods division, particularly firearms.

  • 1986

    Pete Yates joins the company and helps secure prominent brands such as Colt and Glock. The decision is made to rebrand the company “Bangers LP” to help identify more closely with the sporting goods industry.

  • 2010

    The company joins the TALO organization adding exclusive products to the lineup.

  • 2016

    Significant category expansion in ammunition, suppressor, and NFA categories added to the product catalog to support a broader base of retail partners.

  • 2018

    Construction of a brand new and larger warehouse facility and corporate campus is completed in Birmingham, AL.

  • 2020

    Warehouse and shipping operations are overhauled, new dealer support resources are added and the company’s footprint is expanded beyond the Southeast.

  • june 2021

    Bangers name is changed to Iron Valley Supply® Co. The name change signifies the geographic ties and rooted history of steel production in the greater Birmingham area. Iron Valley Supply® Co. serves as the trusted Adventure Culture Storehouse for the outdoor community.

  • DECEMBER 2022

    New Iron Valley Supply website launched in conjunction with a corporate Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) implementation making it easier and faster for dealers to get the products they need.
